Note: Please take gravity acceleration g = 9.80m/s2, molecular volume of gas at room temperature and general atmospheric pressure to be 22.4 L/mol in this assignment.

1.   It is known that a factory is constructing a CO2 capture device. The waste gas is generated by the factory at a rate of 100 m3/hr at room temperature and general atmospheric pressure, in which the components have no difference with fresh air, except CO2 concentration reaching 2000 ppm. If after 1 day operation, 4800 g of CO2 has been captured and removed from waste gas, please calculate:

1)  The efficiency of this CO2 capture device.

2)  Whether the waste gas after removal can fit the standard, which is 500 ppm.

2.   Please use a short essay with several points and explanations to summarize why global warming is in vicious cycle.

3.   An accident happens at a pipeline transporting natural gas. Gas, with 100% CH4, is leaking at a rate of 100 L/hr under standard  atmospheric pressure under room temperature. Please calculate this global warming effect of accident is equivalent to how much emission of CO2.

4.   What are the primary types of greenhouse gases? Please list one source for each one.

5.   Of all the energy we human being is using, which ones are non-renewable energy or renewable energy? Please list them and also explain how these energies are formed in nature.

6.   What is the definition of carbon sink? How do forest and ocean work to store carbon? Please explain the mechanism.
