VQC 7008 Advance Resistance Training and Conditioning 2 (Summative Assessment)

Question 1 (20%)

a)  You have been tasked with coaching a group of runners. They need to train for both aerobic capacity and aerobic power. Design a weekly program where they train for 4 days a week that is able to improve both aerobic capacity and power. Also give details on the physiological differences in improving aerobic capacity and power, respectively. (10%)

b)  Triple flexion and triple extensions are important mechanics to produce good sprint speed. Discuss the type of muscle actions involved in the triple flexion and triple extension, and then, with video/pictures examples from yourselves, demonstrate how can you train the muscles involved to improve the sprint speed. (10%)

Question 2 (20%)

You have been invited to conduct a short online workshop on exercise during pregnancy for 10 minutes. The organisers have asked you to submit a 2-page outline and video recording of your session. Your outline and video should incorporate the following information:

1. Anatomical and physiological changes during pregnancy

2. Benefits of exercise during pregnancy

3. Contraindications to exercise during pregnancy

4. Important exercise guidelines and/or considerations

5. Example of an exercise routine (demonstration)

Additional Instructions:

• Students must provide spoken information and demonstrate the exercise routine by themselves.

• The video should be submitted via spectrum together with the outline by including the link.

Note: Outline and video recording with demonstration (20%) - The Video should be no more than 10 minutes in duration - Marks will be given based on the assessment rubric.

Additional Note: Students are allowed to seek clarification on the questions from the course lecturer.
