Project Title: Interactive Immersive Animation
Coursework Weight: 40%
Aim
To explore creative storytelling through a hybrid media form that integrates print design and augmented reality. This assignment challenges students to combine visual communication, narrative thinking, and interactive media tools.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this assignment, students will be able to:
• Apply visual storytelling techniques using both physical and digital media
• Design for Augmented Reality (AR) using appropriate software
• Demonstrate conceptual development and critical thinking through theme interpretation
• Reflect on the affordances and limitations ofAR as a communicative medium
Task
Create a poster that comes to life through Augmented Reality. The printed side should visually represent your chosen theme, while the AR layer should enhance the message through animation, interaction, or audiovisual augmentation.
Theme
Please choose one of the following:
• Reimagining the Future
– Depict a speculative future of a place, culture, or tradition through AR.
• Cultural Whispers
– Celebrate a folk tale, traditional motif, or myth with motion and interactivity.
• For the Planet
– Use your poster to advocate for environmental awareness or climate action.
• Digital Poetics
– Translate a short poem or haiku into a multi-sensory AR experience.
• Lost & Found
– Highlight something “lost” in your culture, environment, or personal life—and revive it virtually.
Software
You are free to use any Adobe software for this project, with core options as follows:
Adobe Animate (Illustration and Animation)
Adobe Aero (Augmented Reality)
Option of other allowed platform. and software:
Procreate (Illustration and Animation)
Effect House (Augmented Reality)
AR Components
Your final should consist of these elements: Animation (10 to 20 seconds), Sound and Interactivity.
Submission Requirements
1. E-Portfolio
Detailed documentation of your creative process and final output. Must include:
• Research & Inspiration – Moodboard, visual references, and conceptual notes
• Design Process – Sketches, storyboards, or flowcharts
• Poster Design Development – Design iterations and final version
• AR Asset Planning – List and samples of 2D/3D/sound assets used
• AR Composition (Adobe Aero) – Screenshots ofthe AR workspace and description of interactivity
• Reflection – Challenges encountered and solutions, personal insights and takeaways
2. AR Printed Poster (A4 size) Must include:
• Project title
• Student name & ID
• QR code (linked to the AR experience)
Important Notes
• Soundtracks must be original (voice-over, recorded SFX, or background music), or use royalty-free content with proper attribution.
• Content must avoid any visuals or language that could be considered inappropriate or offensive to any community.
• Late submissions will incur a mark deduction of 0–20% per day. After the late submission window closes, a zero (0%) will be recorded.
• Submissions must be made exclusively via MyTimes. Other submission methods will not be accepted.
Assessment Criteria (40%)

AR Experience (Interactive Immersive Animation): Design (10%), Animation (10%) AR Content & Technical Execution (10%)

b) One (1) Word file (.docx) of the Assessment Feedback Form. TOTAL SUBMISSION: TWO (2) FILES
